Phone~ography

To paraphrase a common notion, The best camera to use is the one you have with you.  Most people will understand there are times when an opportunity for a terrific photo will just happen. The story of Ansel Adams photograph Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico certainly attests to this. (He was driving back from photographing another location when he saw the moon rising over Hernandez, New Mexico. At the same time the sun was setting and the last light was reflecting off the white buildings of the town. He had about three minutes to get his camera out, set up his tripod, and make an exposure before the sun went down and the buildings were no longer illuminated) Most photographers I know, as well as myself, rarely carry around full size cameras on a daily basis, but we all carry smartphones. Whether or not Phonography will overtake full size cameras I don’t know, but at this stage in their development of the camera phone, I believe they are capable of producing extremely interesting and unique images with professional results.
